Labrador

Adventurous Media will be filming a motorcycle trip across Labrador on the Trans Labrador Highway.

One member of the team, Thane Silliker, previously rode through the province when Phase II of the highway was completed in 2002.

Phase II linked together many coastal communities that were previously isolated by ferry.  
However, it was still necessary to take a ferry to travel back and forth from Goose Bay and Labrador City.

In December, 2009, the final phase of this highway was opened to the public.
This last section is known as Phase III.
It links the two previously completed sections of highway in the mainland half of the province of Newfoundland and Labrador.

This road opens up the province like never before.
Trade, tourism, and travel will undergo fundamental changes that will make a difference in the lives of everyone in Labrador.
We intend to discover what changes have been made, and attempt to discover how residents and their governments will deal with the change on the horizon.

Travel is still difficult in Labador, and likely always will be.
We will brave the rough and lonely roads so that we may show this wonderful land to the world.
